By now most men already know that heart disease is
one the most common causes of deaths in the United States
today. The thing is that most men don’t realize
that what they view as their daily grind is the likely
reason why they will experience this problem in their
lifetime. Heart disease is caused by many things that
most men don’t realize are even a problem. Today’s
fast paced society is not helping to make this statistic
change. In fact the leading causes of heart disease
in males today are:
* Stress- dealing with daily stresses at home and
at work
* Diet- most men are overeating junk food and fatty
foods
* Smoking- 35%-40% of men smoke cigarettes or cigars
* Alcohol- Stresses and other factors often have men
drinking more these days
All men know these things are a factor in heart disease,
and yet few realize just how easy it is to correct.
For example, if you simply add more leafy green vegetables
to your diet and limit the amount of alcohol that you
consume, you can lower your chances of getting heart
disease by up to 25%. Choosing a diet that is lower
in fat can make a significant change as well. Another
thing that will help deflect heart disease is to learn
how to manage your stress levels better. It may not
sound like much, but these things really can help to
minimize heart related problems.
Finally, I know this sounds like a given, but following
a balanced nutrition plan and getting regular exercise
can drastically reduce of having heart related problems.
I am not saying that you have to participate in a Swartzenagger
type of workout, but upping your daily exercise through
things like walking and sports for example can provide
you with the exercise you need in order to get the blood
flowing and the heart pumping. If all it takes is a
walk a day or even just working in the yard, why wouldn’t
you want to do it? It doesn’t get any easier than
that, and you may just save your heart in the end and
even your life. |
